Online networks, both professional and social, help you to build relationships more efficiently. Online communities allow you to converse quickly and easily with others, especially with those who live and work in another city, state or country. Use it to widen your niche market or build an international client base. You will also save time by interacting with others online instead of conducting in-person meetings or making phone calls. This does not mean that you should not use traditional networking methods; use a combination of online and offline networking techniques to propel your business to the next level.

Professional connections are essential to marketing your products and services effectively and generating new business. Conventional advertising can be very costly. Online networking provides a low-cost solution for you to promote yourself and your business and offers a platform for you to reach many potential clients and contacts at once. In particular, you will reach professionals who are seeking to establish new contacts and business relationships and would like to learn more about what you or your company has to offer them. If your resources are limited, use online networking to advertise your products and services until you are ready to pursue more expensive methods.

Word of mouth publicity is key to expanding your business. Networking provides you with the opportunity to share your expertise with others and promote your brand and your company. It has been defined as the act of referring people to businesses and businesses to people. New contacts can provide you with information and connections that you would not have had prior to meeting them. As more people get to know you, you will start to gain more sales leads. This is because people like to generate business for companies and individuals who they know and trust.

When actively networking you will find that your business is moving forward at a more rapid pace than if you were to let it grow organically.
