Clayton E. Sumner Advised Governments as an Administrative Analyst for USAID

Clayton E. Sumner enjoyed a long career as an administrative analyst for the United States Department of State Agency for International Development (USAID), a
federal agency created to provide economic assistance to developing countries around the world. The burgeoning agency initially focused on international food and peace operations but has since grown to support economic growth, health, democracy and humanitarian assistance in Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and Eurasia, and the Middle East. During his tenure with USAID, Mr. Sumner provided assistance to governmental activities throughout the world on all types of problems, and eventually found himself in Brazil, where he wrote numerous recommendations that were later adopted by the Brazilian government. He also spent time working for USAID’s Food for Peace program, which helps to feed families in all corners of the world.
