I would like to introduce myself; I am a registered nurse and an author. My name is Marcelle Lee Tomlinson. I recently published a book called: A Precious Life – How I Survived Being Stalked and Sexually Abused. My website is: www.apreciouslifebyleetomlinson.com. Without fail, I am forever dedicated to helping women and young girls that have been sexually abused seek help through counseling. Counseling is the first step toward healing. My mission is to reach out to those that need help, and lead them in the right direction. I truly want my story of survival to inspire women of all ages that have been sexually assaulted. I want other survivors to know that they too can have a successful and meaningful life.
Just to share my credentials with you, I have been elected as a VIP member of Cambridge Who’s Who. I was given recognition November 9, 2007, by Senator Gibson E. Amstrong, for my title as an Assistant Director of Nursing at Pleasantview Retirement Community, in Manheim, PA. I have worked in oncology, critical care, behavioral health, and home health care. I also have worked with sexually abused girls intermittently throughout my career. Just recently I started the group: Survivors of Sexual Abuse Speak Out. The e-mail for the group is: survivorsspeakout@hushmail.com. My goal is to get the attention of those who have been abused, and guide them toward getting help. The first step to healing is counseling. On August 2nd, I promoted my book: A Precious Life, through a successful book signing event at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore at the Inner Harbor in Baltimore, Maryland. Many of the women that I talked with that day thanked me for reaching out to help them. It is sad to see the pain that these girls and women have gone through. I also volunteer to speak in front of groups. After each session, there is always someone who pulls me aside to ask me what steps they should take to get help. I want to reach out to help as many people as possible.
