Occupational therapy requires a masters degree (I guess that would be the same in the UK). It is a 6 year degree, less if you already have some of the prerequesites from your previous degree. OT is science based-amoung the pre-requisites i took are biology, kineseology, anatomy, abnormal psycology, statistics. The OT courses include cousres is different diseases, development, therapeutic activities to name a few. I wuld suggest you contact a local hospital or nursing facility and ask if you can shadow an OT for a few hours. OT's work in many different environments- schools, hospitals, nursing homes. We work across the life span from infant through geriatric populations. I love what I do and have worked in a variety of settings. Let me know if I can be of further assistance!'
