Good comments all. Just to put a "thinker" into the mix, is not the great leader the one who recognizes that they run a "hive". All workers have their roles, not necessarily predestined forever, but at least a starting point.…

There are a few things hinted at by our colleagues: The strength of a good leader comes from being "comfortable in one's own skin" That means being prepared to be vulnerable as well as decisive depending on the situation. Active…

In My opinion, everybody is good, it is the time & place,or our thinking. All human beings are born good. Some get opportunity to flourish, some don't.We must help each other in a positive way.

Claire, Hmmm...I thought I had created a new group, but apparently I did not. Let me try again. At the moment we are dealing with a family hospice issue so I need to drop away for a few days.

Claire, I set up the separate discussion group as you suggested. It appears, however, that we may be converging above. Not that this is bad, the topic is large enough to handle a lot of dialogue.

Leaders...What distinguishes between the good and truly great leaders from your experience?

Please feel free to take this topic as relatively open ended for discussion. Are leaders born or can they be taught? What role, if any, does adversity play in the development of a leader? Can truly great leaders fail and under what circumstances? If you believe great leaders can fail, then is there a way to redemption?Claire has a good discussion going on YOUR personal experiences. This one is based more on your professional experience in OBSERVING leaders.I hope you will find this to be an…See More

What are you passionate about?
Helping people and groups be better and perform better than they believe possible.
What makes you a valuable networking contact?
The capacity to take chaotic situations and make sense out of them by embracing the team.
How did you become involved in your current position? If you’re an entrepreneur, what inspired you to start your own company?
At one point, had over 2500 reports. I saw what great managers could accomplish and how to move good managers to great ones. Also learned that some do not make the curve and are likely to continue to reside as solid, but middle level managers who are also valuable.
