being a good listener; learning from the experiences of others; making a difference in the health care field; mentoring students; educating clients and their families about their medical conditions in order to optimize their clinical outcomes; personal commitment to lifelong learning.
What makes you a valuable networking contact?
I am insightful, creative, and often make novel connections that reveal hidden patterns and connections, revealing additional problem-solving options.
How did you become involved in your current position? If you’re an entrepreneur, what inspired you to start your own company?
I have always felt that private practice affords the best clinical outcome for the client because the clinician has greater freedom to individualize, modify and progress their treatment program.
Offering (Products, services, expertise, etc. you or your company can offer others)
Pain-Free At Last! Seeking (Products, services, expertise, etc. you or your company are looking for)
Opportunities for public speaking; private clients (from individuals/employers with interests in wellness programs; to individualized fitness training that optimizes athletic potential; to physical rehabilitation emphasizing the integration of one's neuroplasticity potential even after moderate to severe injury). A 25 year-old man with C5/C6 quadriparesis (following a diving injury) regained independent walking (4.0 mph!) and later graduated from college. An 82 year-old man who at 79 had a tragic car accident requiring emergency brain surgery had inpatient rehabilitation for several months, and additional rehab as a resident of a skilled nursing facility, and was told by his physiatrist that he had reached his physical potential at one year post injury, remaining rather physically dependent; but having begun working with him in therapy more than two years post-injury, he regained his physical independence.
