Did you ever visit Hickory Farms at the Crystal Run Mall at Middlteonw Ny from 1994-1997? Just curious I was a store Manger at the time. In 1995 I won the star perfomer award and all inclusive trip to Cancoon for my sales ablity. I was the 3 top Salesperson out of 72 mangers. Now there are no permant HF all online and temp kisioks put up at xmas. Was to much fort rent. Some of the malls want 10,000 a month. If you do not do outside sales, and fundraising you will not get ahead like i did, but then u need to beat those past numbers. Gets hard to do that. God I remember Whaley Lake. There i belive if it was the same lake had ahidden lake next to it. We use to go skinny dip. A whole really. I grew up in Lagrangeville went to school at Arlighton. graduated 89.

We have been serious about recycling for 3 years, we have annual yard sale. We pick up stuff after yard sales. The Bike drive was because we are selves did not have bikes, we collected like 20 off our neighbors scrap piles, around cleanup time. We had them in our driveway. When a young boy probaly 8 came up. He asked what r you doing with all the bikes. My husband replied we are fixing them up. When the kid left he walked away sad putting his head down. I turned to my husband and said. If we can fix up a few more maybe we can give some out to the kids in the area. We have given out over 635 bikes, saved the landfill over 1100 bikes. I'm proud. Some kids got some free bikes, adults got reasonably priced bikes. I see a kid go down the road I have a bike too. I get so much joy, at times tears roll down my cheek. How prescious to see someone you worked hard on get enjoyment over and over again. Not just that but around here people use them for transporation. I enjoy the rush it gives me to save them from Police departments, and colleges. Fix them and show some kid how to fix it, then give it away to some kid. Cheers Happy New Year !!!!! http://bikedrive.topcities.com

Welcome, Laura!
I too am becoming passionate about landfills especially since I lived and worked on Staten Island when we had the Eighth Wonder of the World, the Staten Island dump, which was so massive it could be viewed from outer space. And boy did it stink!
