Keith my friend, it looks as if you work in the financial field, ironic so does my older sister. but it would seem to be a heaven or hell relationship. You see while you work in the field of financial planning and deal in optimism, she is instead a loan shark, you tell people what they can do she what they can't.

If I may Keith, please allow me to pick your brain. Being a man who works with money please allow me to we view a quick tail. as i was writing my first book I am sad to say I did so with much haste. I had only spoken to a dozen publicist before employing friends and relatives to assist me in my hunt. Writing is of course my one true passion and so you can imagine how eager I must have been to share my story with whomever would listen.

And so I was found by"author house" not yet understanding difference between standardized publishing and subsidy publishing I didn't know how to weigh the pros and cons, be it such I'm not sure I understand even now. allow me to get my point so Keith here's basically what happened, I spoke to the representative from my company, he gave me a series of numbers he told me minimum publishing would cost me $500 in advance but for a $1000 he could get me a hardcover book deal for $1500 he did give me a deal with both hard and soft cover book's.

I told him I work in a restaurant as my day job I make less than $30,000 a year 1500 is just too much for me to pay. So he said let's start with the $500 package and we'll talk more later I of course said okay. We start the deal and he sends me a brochure telling about other things they may need or want, such as an ISP number so that libraries could carry my book and a USB code so I could be carried in bookstores and validation from a editor and then copyright which have to be paid for separately. This he said I would need all of. ISP, USB costs $100 each, copyright I paid $75 for, my editor charge me $3500 to validate which I guess was 2.75 cents per word then after that I was told that my printer was going to charge me $9.25 every time one copy my book was ordered but if for-say someone ordered 100 copies he would only charge me $6.10. Electronic copy my publisher takes $1.35 of oneself the rest I get to keep.

All things considered I don't think I got a bad deal but I think I could've gotten more for my money. What do you think?

I'm pretty sure I want to have to go with a different publisher this time but I would ask around and see they get another opinion.
