What are you passionate about?
My family and helping children with learning challenges understand there is hope and a solution. Through strengthening the underlying weak mental skills, children will learn easier and more efficiently.
What makes you a valuable networking contact?
I am considered to be an important link within education because my work centers on a level below the main academics. After children work with my programs, theoretically, they will walk into a classroom and be able to learn easier and more efficiently. This is because 85% of all learning disabilities are connected to weak learning skills according to research from the
How did you become involved in your current position? If you’re an entrepreneur, what inspired you to start your own company?
My daughter Shannon was diagnosed with cancer and an autoimmune disorder (Opsoclonus Myoclonus Syndrome-OMS) at age 11 mos. She sustained a brain injury from this disorder which led me to special education, cognitive rehabilitation and a quest to help other families avoid the emotional roller coaster of living with special needs.
Offering (Products, services, expertise, etc. you or your company can offer others)
I can help other educators, optometrists, psychiatrists, psychologists and social workers expand their success by working together. My programs were originally developed by developmental optometrists to help improve visual processing and cognitive issues. With this great success the programs were moved into a clinical setting to help psychiatrists, etc. help their clients be successful by obtaining the learning skills needed to become an interactive participate in their own therapy and success. With this success my programs were then moved into the mainstream to indiv. PACE providers (like myself) and learning centers.
Seeking (Products, services, expertise, etc. you or your company are looking for)
I am looking to partner with local optometrists, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists and educators.
