- my writing and quality education and entertainment for children, particularly the middle grade/middle school levels; my faith and walk with God through Jesus Christ
- What makes you a valuable networking contact?
- educational experience (both public and private as well as all levels--elementary, secondary, and post-secondary); published children's novelist (and actively involved with a writers group in Pueblo, Colorado)
- How did you become involved in your current position? If you’re an entrepreneur, what inspired you to start your own company?
- Several years ago, I decided to take the plunge to being a published writer and enrolled in a course through the Institute for Children's Literature (ICL). I have earned two diplomas through ICL as of November 2008. When my husband died in 2006, I wrote my first novel in his honor, which started my writing career. To date, I have published two more children's novels and am working on the fourth. I resigned my teaching position at the end of the 2008 school year and am now a full-time children's author/writer/speaker. New opportunities present themselves with every new calendar year. In 2010, I will introduce my books as valuable educational tools for the classroom at the annual teachers conference in Akransas. In 2011, I will be one of the speakers at the Christian Writers Conference hosted by East Texas Baptist University.
