Since noone has come forward to answer this basic questiion I will do so myself.
Walking is the best form of exercise because we are best designed for it!
Think movement. Take the stairs, walk the parking lot, hand-wash your car, and garden.
Outdoor activity is the best when ample clean air is avaiable.
My last three years of teaching were spent on the third floor (actually six flights) of a 1930s Annex building.
I so counted every step as did my pupils as we walked the stairs on average three times a day.
I never really appreciated that the challenge was saving my life and affording my pupils much needed exercise - even as they were huffing and puffing by the time they reached the top of he stairwell; and then we made our way to our classroom which was the furthest away!
Claire This Is Correct Walking is The Best Form Of Exercise, Especially Speed Walking. This Requires Total Body Movement. Another Good One Is Swimming. As Fitness Trainer I Recommend Various Exercises To Suit Ones Needs.
Hi KELVIN!
How special that you have chosen to join The Eight Laws of Health and commented straight away.
Your Reply here is RIGHT ON THE MONEY!
I just joined a local outdoor pool - with saline instead of chlorine and it's even heated.
Now coach - tell me to use it!

Great My Friend, I'll Be Honored To Share My Knowledge If It Will Assist You. Stand In The Water Alittle Above Waist Level, You Can Do Lapse Using High Steps OR walking In Place. I Recommend That You Start Off According To The Level You're Most At Ease With, As Time Allows Increase Your Reps. Now If You're Into Swimming Lapses Will Do Wonders. This Is Also Great That The Pool Is Heated And The Water Is Saline.Let Me Know How It;s Going!
OK KELVIN.
Good advice. I have acclimated to the pool, the fresh air and the sunlight!
I was the only person in the pool area.
It's been too long since i've been in a pool. There is no lifeguard and the pool goes up to 6 feet.
Next week I will commit to doing one lap if you hold me to account to keep my promise.
Will you coach me in this fashion? I always do more with others than solo.
Accounting to you will force me to live out of my word and up my swimming exercise. I already feel the benefits over and above my rebounder.
Hi Claire It's Great That You Have Chosen To Start Your Path To A Fitter You, The Benefits Are Always Rewarding.
Wow!As I Read Some Of Your Commeds I See That We Have A lot Of Commom Ground. When I Was A Young Adult Living In The Projects In The South Bronx, I Use To Jog Up The Stairs Every Day. This Became Routine, Sometimes Twice A Day. Now That I Think Back It Amazes Me, Because We Lived On The 20th. Floor.
Where in the South Bronx were you leaping tall buildings? I was in the shadow of Yankee Stadium.

I Grow Up Over Near Jackson Ave. Trinity Avenue 149TH Street, St. Mary's Projects. IT Was There I Learned To Fine Tuned My Blessings.
I often walked to my dentist ironically named Mr. Murphy at 149th Street and 3rd Ave.
Today I feel the warmth of yesterday's sun on my body and it is a good feeling.
How does that song go? "Comin' alive"!
