After watching a special a few weeks ago on how industries are processing the foods (especially meats), I decided to become a vegetarian. I have always limited my intake of meats, specifically beef. It's been about two weeks that I haven't had any meats, and I feel GREAT! I have more energy, I am not depressed, and I feel lighter. Any vegetarians in the group?, if so, would you please share some of your vegetarian recipes? I would love to know how to prepare a vegetarian burger!

Hi Susie,

When I first became a vegetarian. I thought that I was going to have a difficult time converting my husband, initially he complained, but in the end I prepared the meals and he stopped complaining.

If you decide to make the change, good luck with your boys.

Connie
Thanks Claire,

I will definitely try this recipe. Would you also consider Turkey as one of the least harmful meats as well. I love Turkey!

Thxs,

Roberta
Yes
I have been eating fish (talopia & catfish), shrimps, scallops, sardines & salmon...........
Shellfish are the scavengers of the sea and thus cause upset.
I have bern so sickly in the past that the first thing I threw up was clams and then lobster.
Goruper is a problem as well.
Quite frankly any dead cadevers are problematic. It is has a face it's best not to consume it.
Forgive my ignorance, what is talopia?
Claire
Not a problem, talopia is a fish......I may have misspelled it! LOL
Hi Claire, I don't eat shellfish, but I am not familiar with the Goruper is this a shellfish? Do you eat only vegetables?

Connie
No but it is not one of the healthier fishes.
I am a vegan enroute to being a full fruitarian. It is a gradual process spelled out in considerable detail in "award-winning" Preserved to Serve".
Wherever we are there's always room for improvement and advancement - on all levels.
Roberta,

I also eat salmon, sea bass.sardines kingfish (most fish) no shellfish, eggplant, mushrooms and a wide variety of fruits and vegetables you can also make soups from lentiles and other dried beans.

Connie
Wow Connie, thanks. Sounds very nutritious. What fish is considered shellfish? Would that be like Tuna Fish?
Roberta, to keep it simple for me any seafood that has a shell I consider shell fish, some examples, clams, mussels, scallops, oysters, lobster, shrimp. etc.

Connie
Hello Susie,

I am happy to share with you any ideas that I have about becoming a vegetarian. Like you, I don't care for meats at all, so it was not a problem for me to stop eating it, and I don't see where it would be a problem for you to stop either. I decided three weeks ago to stop eating meats and have been probably over indulging in seafood, which has resulted in itchy skin rashes. Now I am basically wondering what can I eat that is filling and not cause me to break out. I want to know also, what can I eat that is non-meat and have that fulfilled filling after eating. When I get the answer, I will definitely share that with you.

Thxs,

Roberta
