Personal Branding through Global Networking

After watching a special a few weeks ago on how industries are processing the foods (especially meats), I decided to become a vegetarian. I have always limited my intake of meats, specifically beef. It's been about two weeks that I haven't had any meats, and I feel GREAT! I have more energy, I am not depressed, and I feel lighter. Any vegetarians in the group?, if so, would you please share some of your vegetarian recipes? I would love to know how to prepare a vegetarian burger!

Hi Roberta,
I have been a vegetarian for the past 20 years. When I first made the decision to change my eating habits, it was indeed a challenge since I dont use salt or sugar, to find recipes. I tried a variety of vegatables, jucies, fruits, fish. untill I found what pleased my palate.

The benefits have been positive, I am a very healthy person, no weight problems, no medication. I know that I made the right decision.

I think that if you choose vegetables and other ingredients that you like, you will make a remarkable vegetarian burger.

Connie
Thanks Connie,

20 years?, I am impressed! Thanks so much for your prompt response, and I do apologize for getting back to you so late. I've had a busy week. It's been three weeks since I've had meat, and to be honest with you I DON'T MISS IT, however, I have had skin breakouts, and I hope it's not due to me eating too much fish, shrimps and scallops. If the seafood is the reason for my breakouts, what can I eat that's filling. Please advise at your earliest convenience if you will:)

Thxs,

Roberta
Roberta,
you may be allergic to shellfish.

When I first became a vegetarian, I was not sure I would have a balanced diet, primarilary protien, I consulted a nutritionist who was helpful, but I still had to try a variety of recepies, its a lifestyle change

Connie.
You are probably right. I think I had too much, which caused me to break out. Do you eat poultry too as a vegetarian? I eat lots of unsalted peanuts and other types of nuts (without salt) to get protein as well and I take vitamins..........
Yes I do eat unsalted peanuts nuts, I usually bake them myself, I also eat raw/roasted/ almonds and cashews english walnut in moderation

Connie,
What about chicken and turkey? Do you eat that as well?
So, Roberta,
Are you interested in a recipe for a raw veggie burger?
Claire
I really want to learn more about this, I have been thinking about becoming one for about a year now, I dont really care for meats to much so I dont think it would be hard for me, but what I do eat I want to have good flavor, any ideas out there to make this easy for me and my family
Make a tasty lamb stew (one of the least harmful meats).
The next time substitute a few cubes of lamb with eggplant cubes.
In subsequent meals continue reducing the lamb chunks until eventually you have a delicious veggie stew.
Make no fuss about the health benefits and simply say, We're trying something new".
Of course, visibly enjoy the stew so others will take your cue.
Salud! Claire
I may have to pass on the lamb, they are just to cute to eat, but I do love egg plant and stews, no I have problem eating things I have had as pets and that covers alot of animals, just about the only things would be fish, chicken, turkey, so meats arent going to be that hard to give up for me, just my boys are meat eaters
I have learned something today. Turkey and Chicken are considered poultry, not meats? Correct me if I am wrong please.......

thxs,

Roberta
