Personal Branding through Global Networking

I write about education all over the net and I know that everybody has an opinion. One thing I see a lot is people with big sweeping prescriptions that are not likely to happen: just get rid of the unions, just level the public schools, just do this, just do that.

So I try to keep things practical. I want to keep my eye on the prize, which is actually to help kids have a better education. I don't try to change anybody's mind. I just say, hey, here's some resources I'm working on or I know about. Put them to use if you can.

On Amazon, I have a list (Listmania) called "32 Important Books About Education." These are the heavy-weights, all described in a few words. If you want to know more about why our public schools are so mediocre, this is a great place to start.

On YouTube I have 40 short graphical videos about education, particularly reading. Titles such as "Why Don't Public Schools Do A Better Job" and "Phonics vs. Whole Word." These usually take about 3-7 minutes long. A lot can be explained in those few minutes.

My main site Improve-Education.org is up to 50 articles. Serious articles but written so high school students would enjoy them. Titles such as "17: Understanding Robots" and "40: Sight Words--The Big Stupid."

So please use these, tell people about them, and add your own resources. That's how you can help me.
