MISSION AFRICA: ABO Leadership & Basketball Camp (June 21 – June 25, 2010)

MISSION AFRICA

ABO uses the basketball camps and coaches’ clinics as a tool to: (1) motivate participants (boys and girls ages 8-21) to attend, stay in school, and further their education after completion of their primary education. (2) Promote gender equality, and empower women by the inclusion of girls from the communities at every ABO Leadership & Basketball Camp. (3) Address poverty issues by helping participants, coaches, and administrators acquire and improve their skills, and knowledge of the game of basketball, and other life skills (Conflict Management, Leadership skills, Job skills, and education), which provides academic and employment opportunities.

The ABO’s Mission Africa team members have extensive experience in planning, organizing, and leading African Basketball mission projects. These experiences have created learning opportunities and collaboration with some of the most experienced leaders in the sports communities. We use these experiences to develop training materials to maximize our volunteers’ time, energy, and efforts.

UPCOMING MISSION AFRICA OPPORTUNITIES:

Cote d’ivoire: ABO Leadership & Basketball Camp (June 21 – June 25, 2010)

Nigeria: ABO Leadership & Basketball Camp (July 23 – July 25, 2010)

this mission has really been on my heart over the past few weeks, would it be possible to send me more information on it and what all your ministry is doing and how we could help, thank you and will wait to hear from you. Minister Susan moll
Dear Minister Susan,

Sorry for the late response. I just notices your request today. Our organization uses sports-based youth development programs to educate the youth about personal development, leadership, and gender equality.......(www.africanbasketball.org)

There are many ways that your organization can help. You can organize a sports equipment drive (Basketball, Jerseys, and basketball shoes) to be donated to the youth at our various camps in Africa.

For more information, I can be reached at 864-569-6024.
