Personal branding is a concept that every executive, professional and entrepreneur should be aware of. It is the process of managing people’s perceptions of you and promoting yourself. Personal brands consist of four major factors: your personal appearance, your personality, your skill set and your unique value that separates you from others in your line of work.
Thank you...this is very helpful.
I would recommend a book I just finished reading. It is called You, Inc. I cannot remember the authors name right now but if you google it you can find it. It explains clearly what is personal branding, how to create a personal brand and the importance of it. The authors are a couple- husband nad wife- with great marketing expertise.
Personal branding is being you, every day. Whether each day you feel like being the best you can be, is entirely up to you, but you have to remember that like attracts like. When you are having your best day, dressed in what makes you feel good, singing your favorite song in your head, do you every notice that people are noticing you, just for being you? That is exactly how you stand out in your own personal brand of perfection! As I tell my friends, just put on a favorite song and dance, that will bring your best out, smiling and dancing.
I would like to know how to create my personal brand.

Hi Veneta,

I am sending you a note via your email - however I should mention that after the trials and tribulations of discovering ways to market my business and gain online visibility in creating a "brand"; I developed an E-book called "Branding Your Business Name" via Internet Marketing.

The resource is available on my website, at www.parkercprw.com (Links Tab, Brand Your Business).

I listed a great many resources that have used personally with fantastic results. Many are FREE!! If you decide to try this great resource, you will be very satisfied with the results you receive.

Hi Lisa,

I too want to learn more about branding. I am a fairly new business, and like you have gone through many trials and tribulations in an effort to effecively market my online business and create visibility of my brand. I will definately check out your book and site.

Thanks for sharing!

Toni

I just bought your resource as I'm so excited to Brand my Business! Thank you!

Deborah (Deb)

Mrs. Lisa,

I bought your E-book but how do I get it? Thanks...

Deb

I really like the idea you touched on here. Without any moral issues of honesty or deception, I always remember advice given by a fictional detective - stick with the truth, then you won't have any trouble remembering to whom you told which version of the "truth." The same should hold true in the marketing world, but as we all know, it too often does not. That may be one way in which really investing ourselves in the personal aspect of personal branding can add that extra quality of uniqueness, the edge of individuality that sets one business apart from others. Identifying with your profession, its message, its image and its impact can turn the meekest of us into real sales persons. If we have the opportunity to promote something we have created and something in which we trust, our enthusiasm will outshine the slick snake oil salespeople that seem to slither around unimpeded. Those of you who know the marketing world of the new milennium will easily flow into the proper channels. Fossils like myself still think of pencil and paper, snail mail, wall phones and face to face conversations as means of communication. I'm keeping my eyes open for direction from the new waves of communication skills to be learned to promote and refine my personal brand as the Backwards Buddhist. Hope springs eternal, they say:)
Amen to that!
Interesting concept. With public relations a crucial part if my job I can completely agree with this concept. This idea really made think.
